Linh and Andy had a beautiful New York Wedding at the Sheraton LaGuardia Hotel in Flushing, NY. From the preparation to the outdoor photo session at Gantry State Park, it was an amazing day.

I was honored to be asked by Joe Zhou, one of the best videographers in New York to co-shoot with him on this commercial set for Magnolia Jewelry Corporation. The model, Miss Jessica Cui 崔藝馨 is the recipient of the Miss NY Chinese Beauty Pageant 2009. It was a long and tiring shoot since they had so many outfits and jewelries. Too bad I didn’t take the blue diamond home (just kidding). Enjoy!

Hi Everyone! It’s been awhile since my last post. Right now, it is the season to give. I had the opportunity to donate my photography services to the New York Asian Women’s Center annual benefit gala. The event was held at the upscale Broad Street Ballroom located in heart of the financial district and MC by Liz Cho of Eyewitness News of WABC. If you know of any one who is battered or need help, please find out more information about NY Asian Women’s Center.
New York Asian Women’s Center: Mission Statement
Founded in 1982 as the first domestic violence organization on the East Coast to serve the Asian communities, the New York Asian Women’s Center (NYAWC) helps battered women overcome violence and govern their own lives, free of abuse. The Center also works to raise public awareness about domestic violence, advocate for the rights of battered women, and create an agenda for social change.
All of NYAWC’s services are free and confidential, rooted in our philosophy of empowering women and supporting their choices so that they can lead their lives without fear of violence.

Anne and Donald had a beautiful New York Wedding at East Harbor Seafood Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. I met this lovely couple – Anne and Donald – a number of times before their actual wedding. Friends of my cousin, Anne and Donald met back in NYU while Donald was the teacher’s assistant for Anne’s chemistry class.
On October 17, 2009, we photographed their awesome Chinese wedding at East Harbor Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. Shooting this wedding was a breeze. Upon my arrival–with the exception of the barking Chico (photos of him coming soon)–Anne was a laid back bride, her bridesmaids busy getting their hair & makeup done.
The first thing I noticed when I walked into the living room was a full-wall bookshelf filled with — you guessed it! — Books! I asked Anne what her favorite book was. She said gave me a Spanish title. I was blown away — this Chinese girl’s favorite book was all in Spanish. I didn’t bother to ask why because I was focused on my preparation for the day. Later on, I realized that the family came from Venezuela.

Ruth and Steven had a beautiful New York Wedding at Watermill Caterers in Smithtown, NY. Prior to opening my office in the Lower East Side, I carried a lot of my equipment & portfolio to meetings with potential clients. The first day I met with Ruth & Steve was no exception. We met at the Starbucks in Astoria and in addition to carrying three huge bags, I also had to look for parking. I made it there eventually and, all in all, we had a great meeting and thankfully, it was all worth it because Ruth and Steve booked.
Here is a photo teaser from their wedding Watermill Caterers in Smithtown, New York. A week before their wedding, I read online about a new method I wanted to try and decided it would be perfect for Ruth & Steve — creating a nice depth of field with a wider shot. Most of the time you need a very long telephoto lens and stand way back in order to create this DOF exposure. This photo consists of 20 frames shot with my Canon 85mm/1.2 lens and the photos are merged in Photoshop. All the frames came straight from the camera with the exception of the photo merge technique.
